Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County Raises Over $80,000 at Third Annual Al Haimbach Memorial Golf Classic

Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County welcomed more than 100 golfers to The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield on Monday, June 8, for the third annual Al Haimbach Memorial Golf Classic, raising more than $80,000 to support local Hamilton County residents in need.

Meals on Wheels hosts another successful golf classic

Named in memory of beloved former volunteer Al Haimbach, the annual event brings together community members, sponsors and supporters for a day of golf and philanthropy while honoring Al’s legacy of service. Funds raised directly support Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County’s mission of providing medically tailored meals to the elderly, individuals with disabilities, facing food insecurities or unable to prepare food for themselves.

The outing was made possible through the generous support of sponsors including presenting sponsor First Merchants Bank along with Renewal by Anderson, Federated Insurance, Aim Hire IT, JEM Jewellers, Biddle Memorial Foundation, Gaylor Electric, Indiana Members Credit Union, the Haimbach Family, and all of the hole sponsors and players who contributed to the event.

“It never gets old seeing a community filled with support come together in such a beautiful setting,” said Jennifer Sturges, development and outreach director of Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County. “To watch over 100 golfers come out, have an incredible day on the course, and raise over $80,000 for our neighbors right here in Hamilton County — it’s truly humbling. What makes this even more meaningful is that Meals on Wheels Hamilton County receives no state or federal funding. Every single dollar raised goes directly to local residents who depend on us. Days like this remind us that our community shows up for one another, and we are so grateful.”

Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County also extends a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated volunteers whose time, energy and commitment helped make the day a tremendous success.

The Al Haimbach Memorial Golf Classic continues to grow each year, demonstrating the power of community support and ensuring that vulnerable Hamilton County residents can continue to live independently with access to reliable, nourishing meals.
